HC Deb 10 May 1898 vol 57 cc836-7
MR. CORNWALLIS (Maidstone)

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he has come to a decision to recommend, in accordance with the terms of his speech at Blackpool, the bestowal of the Jubilee medal on those members of the Volunteer Medical Staff Corps (Maidstone Company) who were in previous possession of the certificate of the St. John Ambulance Association, and who did duty in London (treating 153 cases of injured people) on the occasion of the celebration of the sixtieth year of Her Majesty's reign?

THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR THE HOME DEPARTMENT (Sir M. W. RIDLEY,) Lancashire, N. Blackpool

I find on inquiry that the case of these men is the same as that of the members of the Ambulance Brigade who have already received the medal, and am happy to be able to inform my honourable Friend that I have given directions for the medal to be issued to them.
