HC Deb 02 May 1898 vol 57 cc27-8
MR. J. W. WILSON (Worcestershire, N.)

I beg to ask the Vice President of the Committee of Council on Education if he will state the number of voluntary schools which eventually refused to join any association; and, further, the number of those to which a Grant under the Bill of 1897 has been made by the Department for the year ending 31st March last?

SIR JOHN GORST

Two hundred and thirty-six schools joined no association; of these, 35 received Grants.
