§ THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR INDIAThe borrowing powers in England last conferred by Parliament on the Secretary of State for India were to the extent of £10,000,000, under the East India Loan Act, 1893. The sum borrowed thereunder is £9,587,598, and has approximately been spent.
