§ MR. VESEY KNOXI beg to ask the Vice President of the Committee of Council for Education (1) whether any steps have been taken with a view to arranging the transfer of the Irish work of the Science and Art Department to an Irish Department, as foreshadowed in Debate in Supply on 29th July last; and (2) whether he is aware that there is a strong desire in Ireland that the Science and Art Department should be relieved from this part of its responsibility?
§ SIR JOHN GORSTThe answer to the first Question is in the negative. As regards the second Question, I am not aware of such a desire; it has not been communicated to me.
