HC Deb 29 July 1898 vol 63 cc443-4
MR. ORR-EWING (Ayr Burghs)

I beg to ask the First Lord of the Treasury if there is a reasonable hope that the Government will introduce a Prisons Bill for Scotland during the next or a subsequent Session?

THE FIRST LORD OF THE TREASURY

I am very unwilling either to give pledges or raise expectations with regard to a new Session. I am sufficiently anxious to bring this Session to a close without making undue promises with regard to next Session. As a matter of course, the subject will have our consideration.
