HC Deb 14 July 1898 vol 61 cc956-7
MR. HOWARD (Middlesex, Tottenham)

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether his attention has been called to the case of the two cyclists who ran into and killed a man in Tottenham, afterwards making off, and against whom a verdict of manslaughter has been found by the coroner's jury; and whether he will issue a reward for their apprehension?

THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR THE HOME DEPARTMENT

I have had a report of this case, but it would be against the long-established practice of the Home Office to offer a reward, and I see no sufficient reason in the present instance for departing from it.
