§ MR. FLAVINI beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland whether he will grant a Return of the number of assistant teachers in Ireland under the National Board, giving respectively the number of first, second, and third class assistants?
§ MR. GERALD BALFOURThe total number of assistant teachers recognised in National schools on the 31st December last was 3,604, of whom there were in the first class 108 males and 140 females, in the second class 482 males and 1,073 females, and in the third class 450 males and 1,342 females.
