HC Deb 11 August 1898 vol 64 cc897-8
MR. SPENCER (West Bromwich)

I beg to ask the First Commissioner of Works whether, having regard to the fact that various points and places of historical interest within the precincts of the House are now indicated by means of plates bearing suitable inscriptions, he will by similar means indicate the exact position which the catafalque of Mr. Gladstone occupied during the lying in state in Westminster Hall?

THE FIRST COMMISSIONER OF WORKS (Mr. AKERS DOUGLAS, Kent, St. Augustine's)

I will give my consideration to the suggestion of my honourable Friend.
