HC Deb 29 April 1898 vol 56 c1544
MR. J. DALY (Monaghan, S.)

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland whether Sir George Morris, President of the Local Government Board in Ireland, has resigned; and, if so, whether he can give the name of his successor as President of the Local Government Board in Ireland?

MR. GERALD BALFOUR

The tenure of office of Sir George Morris as Vice-President of the Irish Local Government Board will terminate to-morrow. It would be contrary to practice to announce the name of his successor until the Queen shall have signified her approval of the appointment.

MR. T. M. HEALY

In regard to this matter, are you going to swop horses while you are crossing the stream?
