HC Deb 21 April 1898 vol 56 c664
MR. J. MCLEOD (Sutherland)

I beg to ask the First Lord of the Treasury whether any later Report has been received from Her Majesty's representative in Havana than the Report received at the Foreign Office in April of last year, in which Consul General Gollan describes the once prosperous and important island of Cuba as being reduced to a desert; and, whether, if any further Report has been received, immediate steps will be taken to have it printed and circulated for the information of both Houses of Parliament?

THE FIRST LORD OF THE TREASURY

The Commercial Report for 1897, from H.M. Consul General at Havana, has not yet been received, but as soon as it reaches the Foreign Office it will be published, in the usual course, with the least possible delay, and presented to Parliament.
