HC Deb 14 May 1897 vol 49 c507
MR. D. LLOYD-GEORGE (Carnarvon Boroughs)

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether his attention has been called to a memorial recently presented to the Home Office by the Christian Social Union relating to the hours of labour and general conditions of employment of women in laundries; and, whether he will consider the desirability of introducing into any future legislation upon the subject provisions dealing with the state of facts disclosed in the memorial?

MR. JESSE COLLINGS

The Secretary of State has received the memorial in question, and will certainly consider the representations made in it when the time comes for further revision of the Factory Acts.
