HC Deb 25 March 1897 vol 47 c1325
MR. J. GRETTON (Derbyshire, S.)

I beg to ask the Under Secretary, of State for Foreign Affairs whether he has received any confirmation of the report that a British subject has been murdered in Cuba in his own house by Spanish soldiers; and, if so, what action Her Majesty's Government has taken, or proposes to take?

MR. CURZON

Her Majesty's Government have received no information on the subject, but have telegraphed an inquiry to Her Majesty's Consul General at Havana.
