I beg to ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether there is any reason why the demand notes and receipts for land tax should not state the amount of the assessment and the poundage as is done in the case of income tax; and, if not, whether he will give orders that such information should always be supplied?

I have no objection to giving instructions that space may he provided in the demand notes for inserting the information desired by the hon. Member; but I must point out that there is no statutory obligation on the local collector to insert these particulars in the ease of land tax.
