HC Deb 06 July 1897 vol 50 c1217
MR. T. M. HEALY

I beg to ask the Secretary to the Treasury, as representing tile Postmaster General, what is the cause of the delay in providing a new post, office in Dundalk; how many years has the Question been under consideration; and, how many sites have been rejected on various grounds by the Department?

MR. HANBURY

I stated on May 20th that the cause of the delay is the difficulty of finding a suitable site or premises at what the Post Office consider a reasonable cost. The matter has not reached the Treasury. s the Question only appeared this morning, the Post, Office cannot state the number of sites rejected; but the subject, as I stated in my previous answer, has been under consideration since 1893.
