HC Deb 05 February 1897 vol 45 c1435
SIR JOHN BRUNNER (Cheshire, Northwich)

I beg to ask the First Lord of the Treasury whether the Government will consider the advisability of introducing a Bill to extend the powers of limited owners to make gifts of real property for purposes of public education and recreation in furtherance of the National desire worthily to commemorate Her Majesty's long reign?

THE FIRST LORD OF THE TREASURY

However excellent the object which the hon. Gentleman has in view, I could not advise the House to embark upon the discussion of all the interesting and intricate questions that would be raised by such a legislative proposal.
