HC Deb 05 February 1897 vol 45 cc1425-6
MR. J. P. EARRELL

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland when he proposes to introduce the Bill dealing with Amalgamation of Poor Law Unions in Ireland; has any commission yet been appointed to consider the subject, and has it made any report; and would he explain the cause of delay?

MR. GERALD BALFOUR

I hope to be able to introduce this Bill without undue delay, but cannot at present fix the exact date of its introduction. No commission has yet been appointed.

MR. J. P. FARRELL

May I point out to the right hon. Gentleman that that is the same answer he gave twice last Session?
