HC Deb 04 February 1897 vol 45 c1311
MR. DANE

I beg to ask the First Lord of the Treasury whether his attention has been called to a resolution passed at the annual general meeting of the Irish Tourist Association, presided aver by the Earl of Mayo, expressive of an earnest desire that on the occasion of the celebration of the sixtieth year of the reign of Her Most Gracious Majesty a Royal residence may be established; and whether the Government will take the matter into serious consideration?

THE FIRST LORD OF THE TREASURY (Mr. A. J. BALFOUR,) Manchester, E.

replied that his attention had been called to the resolution. He was afraid he could not discuss, in answer to the question, the pros and cons of the matter, but it had been brought under the attention of the Government both in Debates in the House and otherwise.
