HC Deb 09 April 1897 vol 48 c843
MR. WEIR

I beg to ask the Secretary to the Treasury, as representing the Postmaster General, if he will state the number of telegraph offices opened under guarantee in England, Wales, Scotland, and Ireland, respectively, for each year since the transfer of the telegraphs to the State?

MR. HANBURY

I cannot trouble the House by giving verbally, in answer to a Question, long strings of figures relating to England, Wales, Scotland, and Ireland separately in each year for more than a quarter of a century, but the information shall be sent to the hon. Member. ["Hear, hear!" and laughter.]
