HC Deb 19 May 1896 vol 40 c1689
MR. JOHN MORLEY (Montrose Burghs)

I beg to ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer, by whom the extraordinary expenses of the Indian contingent at Suakin are to be borne?

THE CHANCELLOR OF THE EXCHEQUER

I stated the other day, in reply to the right hon. Gentleman the Member for West Monmouthshire, that these expenses would be a matter of arrangement between the Egyptian Government and Her Majesty's Government, and I have nothing as yet to add to that statement.
