TANNERI beg to ask the Under Secretary of State for War, whether the extremely unsatisfactory sanitary surroundings at Shoeburyness will be remedied; whether the village sewer, the general, sanitary conditions of the foreshore and neighbouring villages are a continual menace to the health of the troops; and what will be done to remedy this often complained of state of affairs?
MR. POWELL-WILLIAMSThe insanitary condition of the foreshores and of the villages in the neighbourhood of the School of Gunnery, has been repeatedly brought to the notice of the Local Authorities. There is reason to believe that the Urban District Council is moving in the matter.
