HC Deb 16 June 1896 vol 41 c1159
DR. FARQUHARSON (Aberdeenshire, W.)

I beg to ask the Under Secretary of State for War whether, having regard to the paucity of candidates at the last examinations for commissions in the Army Medical Department, it is proposed to issue a new warrant remedying the grievances of the officers of that Department; and, if so, whether the promulgation of such new warrant may be expected before the next examination, in August?

MR. POWELL-WILLIAMS

As stated last week, in reply to the hon. Member for Mid Cork, the Secretary of State has the whole question of the paucity of candidates for the Medical Staff under his consideration. Whether it will result in the issue of a new warrant, and, if so, when it will be issued, I cannot at present say; but the matter will not be lost sight of.
