FARQUHARSON (Aberdeenshire, W.)I beg to ask the Under Secretary of State for War whether he is aware that a good deal of dissatisfaction exists in the Volunteer Medical Staff at the withholding from them of the outfit grant of £10 on appointment, and the further grant of £10, after passing through a course of instruction, allowed to their combatant brethren; and, will he endeavour to secure uniformity of treatment in this matter?
MR. POWELL - WILLIAMSThe outfit allowance to combatant volunteer officers was granted in order that it might reduce the difficulty in obtaining officers. The conditions as regards medical officers are not similar.
