§ MR HOGANI beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he is now in a position to state the results of his communications with the Governments of New Zealand and New South Wales on the subject of the future government of Norfolk Island?
MR CHAMBERLAINI expect to receive a communication on the subject very shortly from New Zealand; but further communications will be necessary both with that colony and with New South Wales, and it is scarcely probable that I shall be in a position to make any statement on the subject for some little time.
