HC Deb 03 July 1896 vol 42 c654
COLONEL RUSSELL (Cheltenham)

I beg to ask the Under Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, when the Papers connected with the case of Captain Lothaire will be had upon the Table; and whether an opportunity will be given to discuss this case before Parliament is prorogued?

MR. CURZON

The Report of Her Majesty's Vice Consul on the trial of Major Lothaire has only just reached this country. It will require to be carefully considered by Her Majesty's Government before a decision is arrived at as to proceeding with the appeal, notice of which has already been formally lodged. Under these circumstances, I am afraid I cannot say when it will be possible to lay Papers or discuss the case in this House.
