HC Deb 14 February 1896 vol 37 cc343-4
MR. JAMES FARRELL (Cavan, W.)

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary In the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, if he has received a copy of a resolution passed by the Bawnboy Board of Guardians, at their meeting on 7th October, calling for the extension of the Cavan, Leitrim, and Roscommon Light Railway from Dranod to Roscommon, Augna to Collooney, and Bawnboy Road to Ennis-killen, with a view to developing the resources of the different districts passed through, and increasing the chances of making the existing line a paying one; and whether the matter has been considered by the Treasury, and what action they intend taking in the matter?

THE CHIEF SECRETARY FOR IRELAND (Mr. GERALD BALFOUR, Leeds, Central)

The resolution referred to has been received and is under consideration, but it would be quite impossible for me, at the present stage, to say what action may be taken in the matter.
