HC Deb 28 April 1896 vol 40 cc14-5
MR. ARTHUR BROOKFIELD (Sussex, Rye)

I beg to ask the Secretary to the Treasury, as representing the Postmaster General, whether any dress regulations for the Postal Service are published; or, whether there is any method by which an hon. Member interested in the question can obtain exact information on the subject of those regulations?

MR. HANBURY

The regulations as to the supply and wearing of uniform clothing in the Post Office Service are to be found in the Books of Rules for Postmasters. A notice on the subject is sent out with every new suit, and special instructions are issued from time to time. None of these are ordinarily accessible to the general public; but if the hon. Member will call at the General Post Office he shall have an opportunity of seeing them.
