ARNOLD-FORSTER (Belfast, W.)I beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Colonies,—(1) whether he has received representations from any of the Governments of the Australian Colonies, asking that Colonial Government Securities may be included in the list of authorised trustee investments; (2) whether such a change can be made without an Act of Parliament; and, (3) if no Act of Parliament be necessary, whether this House will have the opportunity of discussing the advisability of such a change before it is sanctioned?

Member is in the affirmative, and to the second question in the negative. Consequently, in reply to the third question, the House of Commons would have the opportunity of discussing the advisability of the change in question before it could be sanctioned.
