MR. D. NAOROJII beg to ask the President of the Board of Trade, whether he is aware that vehicles propelled by stored electricity or petroleum run freely in the streets of Paris, whereas they are restricted here by the Locomotive Acts to a speed not exceeding four miles per hour, and must have three attendants, one in advance of the vehicle carrying a red flag; and, if so, whether he proposes to take any steps for allowing such vehicles, if unobjectionable to the public, to be freely used in this country?
§ THE PRESIDENT OF THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT BOARD (Mr. G. J. SHAW-LEFEVRE,) Bradford, CentralI am about to introduce a Bill upon this subject, which I hope will meet the views of the hon. Member.
