I beg to ask the Under Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs if Mr. Gosling has been accorded leave of absence from Her Majesty's Legation to the Republic of Central America; and, in such case, who has been charged to represent him in actively prosecuting the claim of the British Government on the Nicaraguan Republic for the treatment of Her Majesty's Vice Consul?

Mr. Gosling has been granted leave of absence and will leave his post in May. Mr. Roberts, Her Majesty's Consul at Guatemala, will take charge during his absence with the rank of Her Majesty's Chargé d'affaires.
