HC Deb 21 March 1895 vol 31 c1560
MR. J. O'CONNOR (Wicklow, W.)

I beg to ask the President of the Board of Trade to inform the House what expenditure for new lighthouses, and new apparatus for existing lighthouses has been sanctioned by the Board of Trade during the ten years ended 31st December, 1824, on the application of each of the three Lighthouse Boards—the Trinity House, the Board of Northern Lighthouses, and the Commissioners of Irish Lights respectively?

Full information as to the expenditure by each of the three Lighthouse Authorities will be found in the Account of the Mercantile Marine Fund, contained in the Civil Service Appropriation Accounts. The latest return is at page 181 of the Appropriation Accounts for 1893–4. If the hon. Member desires any further information on the subject, and will communicate with me, I will give him whatever I can.
