HC Deb 21 March 1895 vol 31 c1559
MR. WEIR

I beg to ask the Secretary for Scotland whether he has received a petition from the inhabitants of Erbusaig, Lochalsh, Ross-shire, to the effect that, in the interests of the fishing and crofter population, there should be at least three openings in the embankment of the new railway at that place; and whether steps will be taken to prevent the construction of the embankment without the necessary openings to the sea.

SIR G. O. TREVELYAN

I have received the petition referred to by the hon. Member, and have transmitted it to the Board of Trade, within whose province the matter lies, for consideration.
