§ MR. WEIRI beg to ask the Secretary for Scotland whether he has received a petition from the inhabitants of Erbusaig, Lochalsh, Ross-shire, to the effect that, in the interests of the fishing and crofter population, there should be at least three openings in the embankment of the new railway at that place; and whether steps will be taken to prevent the construction of the embankment without the necessary openings to the sea.
§ SIR G. O. TREVELYANI have received the petition referred to by the hon. Member, and have transmitted it to the Board of Trade, within whose province the matter lies, for consideration.
