I beg to ask the Secretary to the Treasury, (1) whether he will either state or give a Return of the number of Second Division Clerks of the Civil Service in Dublin promoted to the First Division or to higher posts (including the higher grade of the Second Division) since September 1888, showing the promotions to each Dublin office respectively, the number of Second Division Clerks employed in each office, and the average service of the clerks promoted; and (2), whether he will give the number of recommendations for promotion during the same period which were not acted upon?
