HC Deb 12 March 1895 vol 31 cc881-2
SIR F. S. POWELL (Wigan)

I beg to ask the Vice President of the Committee of Council on Education whether his attention has been directed to the great risk which arises, especially in the case of young children, from the use of doors which open outwards as well as inwards, as provided in Schedule 7 of the new Code, Articles (5) and (7) (b); and whether he is prepared to amend those provisions with a view to prevent such risk?

MR. A. H. D. ACLAND

If risk arises in any case from this provision as to new buildings, which is already in existence in many schools, the Department will be satisfied with doors opening outwards.
