DAVID THOMAS (Merthyr Tydvil)I beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he can state when he hopes to be able to introduce the Bill for amending the Coal Mines Act, promised in his recent speeches in the country, though not mentioned in the Speech from the Thorne; and, whether it is his intention to refer the Bill after Second Reading to a Standing Committee?
§ MR. ASQUITHIt has always been the intention of the Government to ask the House to send these Bills to a Standing Committee. I cannot at present make any statement as to the date of their introduction, except that there will be no avoidable delay.
