§ MR. HERMON-HODGEI beg to ask the right hon. Gentleman the First Commissioner of Works a question of which I have not been able to give him private notice, namely, whether he is aware that during the earlier portion of the afternoon there was a most horrible smell from the drains near the Bar of the House, and whether he will inquire into the cause of it and endeavour to put a stop to a state of things which is not uncommon in this House, and which is very prejudicial to the health of hon. Members.
THE FIRST COMMISSIONER OF WORKS Mr. (AKERS-DOUGLAS, Kent, St. Augustine's)The hon. Member has not given me notice of the question, but I will make inquiries into the matter at once, and see what can be done. ("Hear, hear!")
