HC Deb 30 April 1895 vol 33 c119
MR. WEIR

I beg to ask the Secretary for Scotland if he will state whether it is the fact that the coal-carrying capacity of the New Vigilant fishery cruiser, purchased by the Fishery Board for Scotland last year is only 22 tons, or four days' fuel.

THE SECRETARY FOR SCOTLAND (Sir GEORGE TREVELYAN, Glasgow, Bridgeton)

I am informed by the Fishery Board that the coal bunker capacity of the Vigilant is about 21 tons, sufficient to propel her about 1,100 miles under favourable circumstances.
