HC Deb 30 April 1895 vol 33 c125
SIR H. MAXWELL

On behalf of the hon. Member for North-east Manchester (Sir JAMES FERGUSSON), I beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he can state the total number of persons injured by accidents in and about coal mines in the year 1894 (of which notice must be given under Section 30 of the Mines Regulation Act), the summary of statistics relating to mines and minerals [C 7,666] only stating the number of deaths resulting therefrom?

THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR THE HOME DEPARTMENT (Mr. H. H. ASQUITH,) Fife, E.

The Committee on mining statistics recommend that this information should be given in the summary of statistics, and this will be done in future years. At present, it only appears in the reports of the inspectors, but I will obtain the information and give the figures if the question be repeated in a few days.
