§ *THE LORD ADVOCATE (in the absence of Sir GEORGE TREVELYAN)The Secretary for Scotland hopes to introduce the Bill for giving power to County Councils and to Parish Councils in Scotland to acquire land for workmen's dwelling houses. He, has no present intention of giving the Bill precedence over the Local Government (Scotland) Bill, or of introducing a measure to 1738 abolish the Standing Joint Committee in counties in Scotland.
