§ MR. FORWOODI beg to ask the President of the Local Government Board whether he has yet considered the Report of Major-General Carey upon the extension of the city boundaries at Liverpool; and, if so, how soon he will be in a position to announce the result?
§ MR. SHAW-LEFEVREThe Report of General Carey on his second inquiry was received by the Local Government Board a few days ago. It deals with a most important subject, and needs very careful consideration. As soon as a decision is arrived at it will be communicated to the Corporation of Liverpool.
§ MR. FORWOODIs it not a fact that the 14th of May is the latest day on which a Provisional Order can be introduced? Will the Order for the extension of the boundaries be made before that day?
§ MR. SHAW-LEFEVREreplied that the 14th of May was the last day, but he could hardly hope that the Order would be completed by that day. The two things must stand together.
