HC Deb 04 June 1894 vol 25 c293
MR. D. CRAWFORD (Lanark, N. E.)

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he will introduce and try to pass this Session the promised Bill to amend the admitted defects of the Mines Regulation Act with reference to the appointment of check-weighers?

THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR THE HOME DEPARTMENT (Mr. ASQUITH,) Fife, E.

I am very anxious, as my hon. Friend knows, to have the law on this subject amended, and I shall do all in my power to press the matter forward. But I fear that I cannot at this moment give any more specific undertaking.
