HC Deb 12 January 1894 vol 20 cc1461-2
MR. WRIGHTSON (Stockton-on-Tees)

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for War whether, before reducing the hours of labour in the War Office factories, an estimate was made as to the loss to the country involved in allowing the large amount of machinery in the arsenals to be idle for so much additional time?

* THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR WAR (Mr. CAMPBELL-BANNERMAN, &c.) Stirling,

Yes, Sir; all circumstances of this nature were carefully considered.
