HC Deb 13 February 1894 vol 21 c385
SIR A. ACLAND-HOOD (Somerset, Wellington)

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for War if he can state what is the total quantity of hay and straw, including straw for mattresses, supplied for all branches of the Army at Home stations during the year 1893: and how much of this quantity was imported from abroad?

*THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR WAR (Mr. CAMPBBLL-BANNERMAN, Stilling, &c.)

The total quantity of bay and straw supplied for all branches of the Army at Home stations during L893 was 28,000 tons of hay and 24,000 tons of straw. It is impossible to say how much of this is home and how much foreign produce.
