HC Deb 12 February 1894 vol 21 c278
MR. MOLLOY

On behalf of the hon. Member for Sunderland, I beg to ask the Secretary to the Admiralty if he will state the amounts expended and proposed to be expended in alterations and refits of hulls, cabins, and engine-rooms of the Royal yachts Victoria and Albert, Osborne, Alberta, and Elfin, for the financial years 1893–4 and 1894–5?

THE SECRETARY TO THE ADMIRALTY (Sir U. KAY-SHUTTLE-WORTH,) Lancashire, Clitheroe

The cost of altering and refitting the hulls, cabins, and engine-rooms cannot be readily separated from the total expenditure on the four Royal yachts. This expenditure for the current year to 31st March is estimated to be about £8,800. It is not certain whether that amount will be reached or exceeded in 1894–5.
