HC Deb 07 August 1894 vol 28 c253
MR. WOODS

I beg to ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether, with a view of meeting the convenience of Members interested in the Mines (Eight Hours) Bill, he can state to the House about the probable time when the Bill is likely to be discussed in its Committee stage?

SIR W. HARCOURT

I hope we shall be able to reach that next Monday.

MR. J. WILSON (Durham, Mid)

The question is as to the probable time that will be given to the Committee stage, not as to the time at which the Committee stage will begin.

SIR W. HARCOURT

I have answered the question as it was put—and as I understood it—the probable time at which the Bill is likely to be discussed; as to how long it will be discussed, I cannot offer an opinion.
