HC Deb 04 September 1893 vol 16 cc1874-5
MR. A. C. MORTON

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Homo Department whether Mr. Tupholine, against whom warrants have been issued for alleged theft and various debts in Dover, has managed to elude the police since the 7th July last; whether in the interval Mr. Tupholine has been recognised in Folkestone and London, and information given to the police; and whether he will cause steps to be taken to get Mr. Tupholine arrested?

THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR THE HOME DEPARTMENT (Mr. ASQUITH,) Fife, E.

The answer to the first paragraph is in the affirmative. Tupholine is said to have been recognised since July 7 on two occasions in Loudon, but not at Folkestone. All the usual and necessary steps are being taken to obtain his arrest.
