HC Deb 07 November 1893 vol 18 c338
COMMANDER BETHELL (York, E. R., Holderness)

I beg to ask the Under Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs if he can state whether the German Government has yet made any inquiry into the case of the barque Thekla, who sank the steam trawler Dogger Bank, of Hull, in April last?

* SIR E. GREY

An inquiry was opened in May last before the Marine Court of Hamburg into a collision between the German ship Thekla and a fishing steamer, supposed to be the Dogger Bank. Her Majesty's Embassy at Berlin was recently instructed to report what steps have since been taken by the Court, but the reply has not yet been received.
