HC Deb 09 May 1893 vol 12 cc451-2
MR. WILLIAM WHITELAW (Perth)

I beg to ask the Secretary for Scotland if the Scotch Office is in communication with the Treasury with regard to an application for an annual subsidy towards the making and working of a line of railway from Garve to Ulla-pool?

SIR G. TREVELYAN

No, Sir; I cannot say that the Departments are in communication on the subject at the present time.

MR. WHITELAW

Does the Scotch Office intend to recommend the Treasury to grant a subsidy?

SIR G. TREVELYAN

I prefer not to answer that question without notice.
