§ MR. DALZIEL (Kirkcaldy, &c.)I beg to ask the First Lord of the Treasury whether the Government have yet come to any decision with regard to the proclamation of a public holiday on the occasion of the Royal wedding?
§ MR. W. E. GLADSTONEWe have had opportunities, I think, of sufficiently considering the subject and of estimating the state of public feeling; and we are convinced that there is no such general desire existing as would justify us in proclaiming a public holiday.
