HC Deb 02 June 1893 vol 13 c41
MR. T. W. RUSSELL (Tyrone, S.)

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland whether he has observed that the scope of the Rent Redemption Act passed in 1891 has been greatly narrowed by a decision of the Court of Appeal in Ireland in the case of "Kelly v.Rattray"; and whether, in view of the fact that the reason of the decision was purely technical, the Government will either introduce an amending measure or assist a measure for that purpose introduced by private Members?

MR. J. MORLEY

I have called for a Report in this matter from the Land Commission, but not yet having received same, must ask the hon Member to be good enough to defer the question for a few days.
