HC Deb 02 June 1893 vol 13 c53
MR. THEOBALD (Essex, Romford)

I beg to ask the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland if it is true that a meeting, at which a so-called land grabber was denounced and a boycotting resolution was passed, was presided over by Mr. J. Hughes, whom the right hon. Gentleman has recently appointed a Magistrate for Limerick?

MR. J. MORLEY

It is certainly not true that any Magistrate was appointed by me. I saw the statement which the hon. Member referred to, and yesterday directed inquiries to be made into it. I must ask the hon. Member to repeat the question on Monday.
